The Swinburne Media Talent Contest 2024 is an annual competition organised for the first time by the Faculty of Multimedia Communication at Swinburne Vietnam, aimed at creating a creative and practical platform for students passionate about the field of communication nationwide.

The Swinburne Media Talent Contest 2024 aims to empower students nationwide by creating pathways to success and opportunities, emphasizing collaboration between students and top organizations. It provides hands-on experience through impactful communication projects for brands.

For every student, this will be an opportunity to unleash their creativity and explore their potential. Most importantly, the Swinburne Media Talent Contest 2024 will serve as a bridge to help them impress future employers with their talent and meaningful messages in each project.

Topics

With the companionship of Simply Cooking Oil Brand, Hong Lam and Tuva Media Organization (in conjunction with UN Women), we bring to the contest three practical topics.
Participants need to choose one of the topics below:

Simply

Campaign Job to Be Done (JTBD):
Create proposals, social campaigns, activities, and media productions for 'Simply' to enhance the brand image and establish Simply as a leading brand in the edible oil industry to the Millennials an Gen Z
Campaign Gender Equality:
Develop proposals, social campaigns, activities, and media productions for 'Gender Equality' to promote awareness of gender equality and related social issues

TUVA Communication

Hong Lam O Mai

IMC Plan:
Teams are invited to research and propose a new name and redesign packaging to appeal to the Gen Z. Develop an integrated communication plan for launching the new product line, targeting Gen Z.

● Competing teams submit a proposal for a communication strategy for one of two projects (or both projects if desired).

12/10 - 09/11: Phase 2 - Training & Workshop

● Participating in Training Workshops from Simply, Hong Lam, and TUVA’s experts 
● After receiving feedback from the Jury, teams began to develop and execute communication strategies based on the submitted proposals.

16/11: Final Round & Results Announcement

● The selected teams will participate in the final event to present and defend their projects in front of the judges. 
● The organizers will announce the results and present the awards on the same night of the Final Round.

Participants

 All students from universities nationwide majoring in Communications, Media, Marketing and related majors have the right to participate.

Each competing team must have a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 6 members.

Teams can come from different schools but must have at least 1 member representing the main responsible group.

Contest rules

1. Regulations on contest products
●   Each team must submit the correct quantity and format requirements as prescribed by the Organizing Committee.
●   The product must be made by the team members themselves. It is not allowed to use any copied content or violate intellectual property rights.
●   The product must be an original work, not previously participated in any other contest or project.

2. Time Regulations
●   Teams must comply with the deadline for submitting their entries as announced in the competition timeline.
●   Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered, unless specifically approved by the Organizing Committee.

3. Scoring and Evaluation Process
●   The entries will be judged based on criteria such as: creativity, feasibility, presentation and practical application.
●   Each stage of the competition (Challenge round, Final Pitching round) will have its own evaluation criteria clearly announced by the Judges.
●   The decision of the Judges is final and irrevocable.

4. Intellectual Property Regulations
●   All entries are the intellectual property of the contestants. However, the Organizing Committee has the right to use the entries for communication and promotional activities after the contest without prior permission.

5. Submission method
●   Teams will submit their entries via the Google Drive/Form system of the Organizing Committee.
●   Each submission must be accompanied by evidence of the team's implementation process (behind-the-scenes photos/videos).

6. Regulations on transparency
●   Teams must ensure that all information provided is accurate and transparent. If any fraudulent behaviour is detected, the team will be immediately disqualified from the competition.

7. Regulations on withdrawal from the competition
●   In case the team wishes to withdraw from the competition, the team leader must officially notify the Organizing Committee via email before the next round begins.

8. Awards and Prizes
●   Awards will be awarded according to the ranking of the competing team. If the winning team violates the regulations, the award will be revoked.

9. Other terms
●   All decisions related to the organisation, implementation and results of the competition will be decided by the Organizing Committee and the competing teams must comply with them.
